Miami University's President Gregory Crawford has been awarded dual honors from Ohio-based entities, highlighting his career and the university's advancements, as detailed in an article published by the university on April 30th. According to Miami University's announcement, Crawford entered the Greater Butler and Warren Counties Business Hall of Fame on April 4 after being selected by Junior Achievement of OKI Partners. He was lauded with a Lifetime Achievement Award by Kent State University's Advanced Materials and Liquid Crystal Institute (AMLCI) last Friday.
President Crawford expressed his gratitude for the recognition in a statement from Miami News, saying, "It is a tremendous honor to be recognized by both of these great institutions." He marked these distinctions not just as personal achievements but as vehicles for promoting Miami University's progress. Under his tenure, the institution forged new partnerships with Cleveland Clinic and the Cincinnati Bengals launched initiatives derived from its strategic plan, MiamiTHRIVE, the university has taken significant strides to reach new heights in the academic sphere in collaboration with these entities.
His academic path is deeply linked to both awarding organizations, Crawford, an alumnus from Kent State, obtained his bachelor's degree in Physics in 1987 there, followed by a master's and a Ph.D. in Chemical Physics, it was also where he met his spouse, Dr. Renate Crawford, who serves as University Ambassador, President Crawford told Miami University while celebrating in April the storied history of AMLCI, which commemorated its 60th anniversary by recognizing the achievements of its community members with 15 awards.
"I am very appreciative to Kent State and to be in this exclusive company," said President Crawford reflecting a blend of pride and appreciation according to the university's publication the event wasn't merely a personal triumph but a chance to celebrate six decades of innovation at AMLCI, his accolades are a testament to a career marked by dedication and a commitment to furthering educational excellence.
