A coordinated strike by the Milford Police Detective Bureau yesterday, May 29, brought a local drug operation to a standstill. The initiative, steered by tips from concerned Milford residents about suspicious activities at 6 Iadarola Ave, resulted in the seizure of roughly 34.79 grams of crack cocaine and $2,315 in cash, according to a social media post from the department.
During the months of ongoing complaints, investigators honed in on the residence, identifying those involved after a male was seen engaging in what appeared to be a drug deal at the address. While approaching the scene for a closer look, the suspects started scattering, with one bolting into the home and a 2017 Black Jeep Cherokee making a failed getaway when Detectives blocked its path.
In recognizing the operation's success, Milford Chief of Police Robert Tusino extended his thanks to both the Detective Bureau for their diligent work and to the community, stating to the Milford Police Department, "These are predators who prey off the disease of addiction." Tusino heralded the collaborative spirit between the police and the community as a key factor in the success of initiatives like this.
The search that followed brought Anthony Jordao, 25, of Woonsocket, RI, and Dean Murphy, 54, of Milford, MA into custody. The list of charges against the suspects, obtained by the Milford Police Department's post, range from trafficking to possession and intent to distribute.
