The Minneapolis Police Department has reported via social media that their 3rd Precinct officers, in concert with other agencies, apprehended a dangerous individual after a high-stakes chase. The suspect was reportedly involved in severe domestic violence, using a vehicle to run over his girlfriend, and later engaged law enforcement by ramming into a squad car belonging to the Bureau of Criminal Apprehension (BCA).

After the initial violent act, a helicopter from an unidentified agency tracked the suspect from above. The pursuit ended near 29th Avenue and 39th Street, where the county’s Violent Offender Task Force (VOTF) used a Tactical Intervention Technique (PIT maneuver) to force the suspect’s vehicle into a tree. "Thanks to the outstanding teamwork and quick action of all involved agencies, the suspect was taken into custody," the Minneapolis Police Department stated.
