
A serious traffic collision occurred on Kearny Mesa Road yesterday afternoon, leaving a motorcyclist with life-threatening injuries. According to the San Diego Police Department, a 26-year-old woman driving a white Ford Mustang was attempting to turn left into the Target parking lot on the 4100 block of Kearny Mesa Road when she collided with a motorcyclist heading south.
The motorcyclist, a 68-year-old male, sustained critical injuries from the incident, including a collapsed lung and a lacerated liver, requiring emergency surgery. The SDPD reported that alcohol did not appear to factor in the collision. Officer Buttle, a watch commander with the department, oversaw the incident.
The Traffic Division officers from the SDPD responded to the scene to investigate the circumstances of the crash.
