Nashville authorities are on the hunt for a man suspected of shoplifting after an incident involving gunshots outside a local Walmart has added to the urgency of their search.
According to a report from the Nashville Police Department, 33-year-old Scott Hudgens Jr. is wanted for an alleged theft at Walgreens in February and has an outstanding warrant against him. And now, he's implicated in a new event that saw shots fired when he fled from law enforcement at the Walmart Supercenter on Nolensville Pike, this pursuit leading to an officer, who was contracted as security, discharging their firearm in the store's parking lot.
The act of the Greenfield police officer—an indirect agent of law within the walls of Walmart—has spurred a secondary investigation by the Cold Case detectives, for amidst the fray, no injuries were documented, no victims strewing across the unforgiving pavement nor the sterile white beds of hospitals to tell the tale of trauma inscribed by hot lead.
