Last Thursday night, a high-speed chase culminated in the arrest of five suspects connected to a rash of violent crimes involving stolen vehicles and firearms. According to a report from the Nashville Police Department, Violent Crimes detectives engaged in a pursuit of a stolen Nissan Altima, with a subsequent arrest of the individuals after a tactical operation on an apartment complex at Creative Way.

Among the apprehended was 16-year-old Jamarcus Menzies, who was previously wanted on three counts of aggravated robbery. Menzies was detected by detectives driving the stolen Altima at alarming speeds in the vicinity of Tyler Drive. The vehicle was reported stolen from an apartment complex on Bell Road just the day before. Post-abandoning the Altima, the group was spotted entering a second vehicle, a green Dodge Charger, which led detectives to the apartment where all five were taken into custody, as reported by the Nashville Police Department.

Inside the apartment, authorities uncovered an arsenal of crime paraphernalia including multiple vehicle programmers, key fobs, and a Tennessee dealer license plate. Outside the premises, detectives discovered three firearms, two of which were reported stolen from separate vehicle thefts in the Nashville area. Furthermore, one of the handguns was modified with a Glock switch, effectively making it a fully-automatic weapon, as detailed by the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department.

The arrestees face a slew of charges, with Menzies booked on his outstanding warrants and additional charges including juvenile handgun possession and possession of fob equipment, as detailed in the Nashville Police Department's release. Seventeen-year-old associate was charged with similar crimes, overlapping in the sphere of theft and illegal firearm possession. The oldest of the group, 22-year-old Aryona Ward, along with 18-year-old Bryun Watkins, face charges of vehicle theft, weapons theft, and evasion of arrest. Another of the adult suspects, Daishoun Cotton, also 18, remains jailed on $16,000 bond.
