
The Nashville Police Department has promoted 14 officers to new supervisory roles, as announced by Chief John Drake. The promotions, effective immediately, include a new captain, three new lieutenants, and ten new sergeants, all of whom will oversee various precincts and units.
According to the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department release, Captain James Williams, an 18-year department veteran, will lead the Traffic Division. New lieutenants include James Jarvis, a 17-year veteran now overseeing Madison Precinct's overnight detail; Keiara Ward-Whitely, with 10 years of experience, who will lead the day detail at Madison Precinct; and Michael Russell, who will head the East Precinct's overnight detail.
The newly promoted sergeants, all with at least six years of service, will take on roles in different precincts and specialized units. Sergeant Mandi Maska-Allen will become the East Precinct's Community Coordinator, while Sergeant Joseph Jakes, with 22 years of experience, will supervise the South Precinct's day detail.
These promotions are intended to maintain a high standard of policing and ensure the department effectively meets the needs of the community. The new leaders are set to begin their roles immediately.
