May has officially been dubbed Building Safety Month, and it's packing a punch with a sports-themed call to action: "Game On." Ready to rally around building safety, the month is set to educate and inspire improvements in our homes and communities. The International Code Council, the driving force behind this awareness campaign, is emphasizing both individual and communal responsibility for ensuring our living spaces are secure and sound, as reported by the City of Coon Rapids.
The community efforts, however, include embracing updated building codes and forging ahead with sustainability projects. As the International Code Council outlines, "Building codes are society's best way of protecting homes, offices, schools, manufacturing facilities, stores and entertainment venues," a principle that underpins the safety infrastructure of our daily environments, the City of Coon Rapids stated.
"Building safety professionals work day in and day out to keep the public safe," echoes the campaign. Interested parties can dive deeper into the specifics via the International Code Council's website.
