Tyrell Thomas, a 22-year-old resident of the West End, was arrested last week in connection with a drug trafficking investigation. The New Bedford Police Department's Facebook page announced the arrest on social media after concluding their investigation on Wednesday last week.

Detectives executed a search warrant at Thomas’s residence at 159 Court Street. During a traffic stop, officers found 72 grams of crack cocaine in his vehicle. A subsequent search of his home led to the discovery of an additional 60.6 grams of crack cocaine, 50 grams of suspected fentanyl, various prescription pills including oxycodone and Percocet, a digital scale, narcotics packaging materials, a .30 caliber magazine, and over $11,000 in cash.

The investigation was led by Detective Nathan Almeida. Thomas has been charged with trafficking in 100 grams or more of cocaine, trafficking in 36 grams or more of fentanyl, and possession with intent to distribute a Class B substance.
