According to an announcement by the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development, the eastbound I-10 from I-610 to US 90 (Chef Menteur Highway) will experience a recurring left lane closure. Additionally, the westbound I-10, between Dwyer Road and Louisa Street, will be seeing similar left lane closures. Running concurrently with the eastbound work, these closures are slated for between 8:30 PM and 5:30 AM every evening from Sunday until Thursday, wrapping up on the morning of Friday, June 6, the Department of Transportation and Development reported. The crews, while performing guardrail repairs, commuters should note that all associated lane closures are subject to be rescheduled if the weather doesn't cooperate.
In light of the construction, DOTD urges travelers to exercise caution. "DOTD appreciates your patience and reminds you to please drive with caution through the construction site and be on the lookout for work crews and their equipment," the notice emphasized. With multiple lane closures in effect, drivers are advised to plan their routes accordingly to avoid delays and ensure safety.
