The New Orleans Police Department (NOPD) is requesting the public’s assistance in locating a person of interest in a homicide case from August 15, 2015. The case involves the death of Taj Smith, which occurred in the 7300 block of Poitevent Avenue.
According to an New Orleans Police Department News release, authorities are seeking Demond Smith, a Black male born on May 28, 1998. He is not considered a suspect, but police believe he may have information relevant to the investigation.
The New Orleans Police Department has clarified that Demond Smith is not wanted for any crime. No details have been released regarding his connection to the victim or the nature of the information he may possess.
