The New Orleans Police Department is investigating a fatal stabbing that occurred yesterday in the Seventh District. Officers responded around 4:00 p.m. to a call in the 9800 block of Morrison Road.
According to the New Orleans Police Department News, upon arrival, police found a juvenile male with multiple stab wounds. He was transported by emergency services to a local hospital, where he was later pronounced dead. The incident followed an altercation between the victim and his brother, during which the suspect allegedly used a knife.
Family members called police and emergency services. The suspect, also a juvenile, was taken into custody at the scene and charged with Second Degree Murder. He was also transported to a hospital for minor injuries sustained during the altercation.
The Orleans Parish Coroner’s Office will release the victim’s name after notifying the family. The investigation is ongoing as police work to determine the full details of the incident.
