Heads up, North Florissant Road users: you're in for some slowdowns starting this Wednesday. The Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT) has announced that Route N, the stretch between Jean Dr. and Thoroughman Ave., will undergo nightly lane closures due to paving work. The closures are set to kick off on Wednesday, from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m., and if all goes according to plan, things should wrap up in about two weeks.
While MoDOT crews get down to business, drivers can expect one lane closed in each direction during the project hours, so if you're a night owl or a third-shifter, you'll want to plan ahead. They're advising motorists to seek out alternate routes to avoid the inconvenience although we all know these advisories often translate to more traffic where you least expect it, so it's probably a good idea to budget a few extra minutes into your night commute just in case.
This all hinges on the weather playing nice, as MoDOT points out that their operations are weather-dependent. In MoDOT's recent update, they've urged travelers to keep tabs on the forecast and to stay tuned for any changes that might spring up because Missouri weather has its own ideas about schedules.
