East Baton Rouge drivers, brace yourselves for a bit of nightly inconvenience if your travels take you along I-110 SB and Plank Road (LA-67). The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) is alerting the public of essential bridge rail repairs that will necessitate lane closures at these sites.
According to a recent announcement by the DOTD, the inside lane on I-110 Southbound at the Plank Road overpass, as well as the inside lanes along Plank Road, both Northbound and Southbound at the I-110 overpass, will be closed. This will be a nocturnal affair, reoccurring every evening from 10:00PM to 5:00AM, starting from Monday, May 19 and stretching until today, provided the weather plays along.
For those affected, the closure might mean adding a few more minutes to your nighttime commute, but it's a small price for the assurance of safety. The DOTD acknowledges the impact these works may have on your schedule and asks for patience. They urge motorists to "please drive with caution through the construction site and be on the lookout for crews and their equipment."
