The National Weather Service in Oklahoma City has updated the forecast for the coming days, indicating a mixed bag of weather conditions starting with partly sunny skies and a high near 78 degrees today. A calm wind will shift southeast at 5 to 7 mph as the day progresses. However, changes are on the horizon. The evening is expected to bring showers, with the possibility of thunderstorms after 4 a.m. Conditions are forecasted with a 60% chance of precipitation and new rainfall amounts ranging from a quarter to half of an inch possible, according to the NWS Oklahoma City's detailed forecast.
The shift continues tomorrow, with a 50 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms before 1 p.m. and mostly cloudy skies throughout the day. The temperatures will peak near 72 degrees, cooled by a north wind blowing at 6 to 10 mph. Additional rainfall could accumulate between a tenth and a quarter of an inch, though thunderstorms might drive local amounts higher. Tomorrow night will offer some respite, as it transitions to partly cloudy with lows around 55 degrees.
Residents can look forward to clear skies on Friday with the forecast promising sunshine and a high near 79 degrees. The pleasant weather continues into the evening with a prediction of mostly clear skies and a nighttime low around 59. The weekend is slated to heat up with a sunny Saturday and a high climbing to 84, while Sunday tops out even warmer at around 86 degrees.
However, the reprieve from inclement weather appears short-lived. Starting Saturday night, there's a 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. The odds of precipitation increase slightly into the next week, with Monday and Tuesday both presenting a 20 to 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, respectively. Daytime highs will hover in the upper 80s, while nighttime lows are expected to be in the low 70s, signaling a typically unpredictable transition into summer weather for Oklahoma residents.
