Oklahoma City residents looking for a splash to beat the summer heat have good news awaiting. OKC Parks is ushering in the summer season with a wave of aquatic fun, opening its two family aquatic centers and multiple spraygrounds. According to a recent announcement on okc.gov, these water venues are set to open their doors tomorrow, offering the community a variety of wet and wild activities.

The family aquatic centers, namely Earlywine and Will Rogers, boast features such as towering slides and water toys, with facilities accommodating a diving well, and a party pavilion respectively. Open Tuesdays through Sundays from May 24 to Aug. 3, these centers follow the operating hours of 1 to 6 p.m. However, they will be closed on Mondays, including holidays. As the summer wanes and school beckons, a back-to-school schedule will take effect from Aug. 9 through Aug. 31, operating only on weekends.

Visitors to the aquatic centers should note the admission fees; $6 for adults, $5 for children aged 3-17, and for seniors aged 55 and older, with children under 2 getting in for free. For families planning frequent visits, season passes are available at $150 for a family of four, while individual passes are $45, granting access to both aquatic centers. In a move to modernize transactions, both centers have shifted to cashless payments, accepting credit and debit cards like Visa, Mastercard, and Discover.

For a more wallet-friendly option, the Northeast Community Pool opens June 10 through Aug. 3, welcoming visitors for $2 per day and $10 for a seasonal pass for adults. Children age 17 and younger can enjoy the pool at no cost. Moreover, OKC Parks runs 16 spraygrounds, amenities that are free to the public. These sites operate from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily, starting tomorrow through Sept. 28. From Douglass to Young's Park, these spraygrounds provide a cool escape from the summer heat. For any issues concerning the spraygrounds and other parks, OKC Parks has provided contact numbers for text reports or further inquiries.
