
Early morning traffic on Sharp Park Road was disrupted yesterday when police responded to a single-vehicle collision. The Pacifica Police Department detailed that Luis Mario Alvarez-Morquecho, a 44-year-old Pacifica resident, had been driving under the influence of alcohol. Officers arrived on the scene at approximately 3:57 AM near the intersection with Lundy Way, where they made this determination and subsequently arrested Alvarez-Morquecho.
According to the Facebook post by the Pacifica Police Department, Alvarez-Morquecho is facing charges for driving under the influence, specifically for violations 23152(A) CVC – DUI (Alcohol) and 23152(B) CVC—DUI (Alcohol/> .08 Percent). Despite the early hour and the potential danger of such incidents, it was reported that there were no injuries as a result of the collision.
Following his arrest, Alvarez-Morquecho was released on a criminal citation at a sobering facility. The Police Department has issued a reminder for the public to help maintain road safety by reporting suspected impaired drivers to 9-1-1.
