The victim, while walking with her toddler, became the target of a male assailant who executed his crime with a chilling bluntness.
Reported to have occurred around 2:30 PM on the serene stretch of the 300 block of Hamilton Avenue, the robbery unfolded swiftly, with the police responding to the scene immediately after receiving a distress call. Unfortunately, the suspect, who had overpowered the woman to seize her belongings, managed to elude the authorities, leaving them grasping at shadows.
The victim's ordeal, described in the statement issued by the Palo Alto Police Department, was particularly brutal as the suspect ensnared her from behind, coercively taking her purse and necklaces. The altercation resulted in the woman being pushed to the ground, an act that left her nursing minor injuries while her toddler, thankfully, remained unharmed.
Treated by the Palo Alto Fire Department paramedics at the scene, the woman described the assailant, a Hispanic male with short black hair, thin build, clad in blue.
