
Tragedy struck Pembroke, New Hampshire, as law enforcement investigates the deaths of a woman and a child in what could be a murder-suicide incident. The New Hampshire Attorney General's Office is leading the investigation following the events that happened earlier today. According to NBC Boston, police were called to the scene around 1 a.m. based on a 911 distress signal.
Upon their arrival, met with the individual who placed the 911 call, they discovered the victims with gunshot wounds that appeared to be inflicted. A child, after being quickly transported to Concord Hospital, was pronounced dead, and the woman was declared deceased at the home where they both resided. The authorities are not immediately releasing further details, awaiting results from the autopsies that are scheduled for later in the day.
WMUR reported that the investigation is still in its early stages, but there currently appears to be no ongoing threat to the public. The identities of the woman and boy have not been disclosed, and officials have not commented on the possible motive behind the tragedy.
