Phoenix law enforcement recently cracked down on vehicular theft, recovering two stolen semi-trucks and arresting four individuals on Monday, according to FOX 10 Phoenix. The operation began with a report of a stolen trailer from a warehouse located near 32nd Avenue and Broadway Road around 2:00 p.m.
The response led to subsequent vehicle stops, the first happening on I-10 and Avondale Boulevard. "One of the stops took place on the I-10 and Avondale Blvd. where officers took the suspect into custody," said Sgt. Brian Bower of the Phoenix Police Department, as per FOX 10 Phoenix. Another truck was intercepted near 35th Avenue and Buckeye Road, leading to further arrests. Meanwhile, KTAR News reported that property detectives have taken over the ongoing investigation.
During the apprehensions, the Arizona Department of Transportation noted that the westbound lanes of I-10 at Avondale Boulevard were briefly closed, which caused a minor disruption. However, the traffic flow was restored within approximately 20 minutes.
While details about the contents of the stolen trailers have not been disclosed, the rapid recovery of the trucks stands as a success for local authorities. Police have yet to release the names of the individuals involved in the incident.
