
A stabbing incident in Southwest Atlanta has prompted an investigation by local authorities. According to a report released by the Atlanta Police Department, a 38-year-old man was attacked by two assailants, one of whom was brandishing a knife. The victim ultimately sustained a stab wound. The violent confrontation occurred on Sunday evening at approximately 8:38 p.m., near the intersection of 232 Forsyth St. SW.
The incident, police say, began while the victim was navigating through an alleyway adjacent to 221 Peachtree St. SW. The two unknown suspects made contact with him, then attempted a robbery, during which, the victim, in resisting, was stabbed. Found to be alert and still conscious despite his injury, he was swiftly transported by ambulance to a hospital for treatment.
Officers who responded to the scene were from Atlanta Police Zone 5. Upon arrival, with the situation under control, the Aggravated Assault Unit commenced with their duties to determine what transpired in those harrowing moments in the alleyway. Authorities have released few details about the suspects, noting only that their identities remain unclear at this time.
