
Residents of Cloverleaf Apartments in Madisonville had a scare last evening as a fire broke out in the kitchen area of one unit. According to the Madisonville Police Department's social media post, emergency services were called to the scene at around 5:19pm. The crisis was averted thanks to the quick response of residents and emergency personnel. "The fire was found to have been contained inside the kitchen area of an apartment with no injuries or no extension to area apartments," the post read.
Local officers, Madisonville Fire and Rescue, and Monroe County EMS were promptly dispatched to address the incident, ensuring that the fire did not escalate further. Traffic in the north end of Madisonville was impacted as authorities asked people to avoid the area while the situation was being managed. The concerted efforts of the tenants and emergency services meant that what could have been a large-scale incident turned out to be a contained one, with no injuries reported.
As of now, the cause of the fire remains under investigation. All Cloverleaf Apartments residents were able to return to their homes with assurances that the building was safe.
