Rancho Cordova is working on two major public works projects to improve city infrastructure. The Chase Drive and American River Parkway Connection and the Sunrise Boulevard Rehabilitation are both under construction, focusing on safety, connectivity, and accessibility. These projects are scheduled to be completed by summer 2025 and will include improved roadways and pedestrian pathways, according to the City of Rancho Cordova.
The second phase of the Chase Drive and American River Parkway Connection project is underway. It includes a separated pathway, pedestrian lighting, and ADA-compliant curb ramps along Chase Drive next to Mills Middle School and Cordova High School, connecting to the American River Parkway bike trail in Hagan Park. At the same time, the Sunrise Boulevard Rehabilitation project is improving the road between White Rock Road and Douglas Road by overlaying pavement, updating landscaping, adding curb ramps, and upgrading drainage on Mechanical Drive and Recycle Road. Lane closures are expected between Douglas Boulevard and Monier Circle, as reported by the City of Rancho Cordova.
Phase three of the Sunrise Boulevard project in Rancho Cordova is scheduled to begin in late 2025. It includes pavement repairs between Douglas Road and Kiefer Boulevard, drainage inlet upgrades, and installation of ADA-compliant pedestrian push-buttons. More information is available on the City of Rancho Cordova’s Current Projects page.
