On a typically quiet evening in Methuen, a CVS parking lot became the scene of a significant drug bust, where local police apprehended a Rhode Island woman for trafficking fentanyl. The Methuen Police Department, through a social media post, disclosed that on Tuesday at precisely 5:55 p.m., officers responded to a call concerning a female unresponsive in her car with a needle in her arm; in addition to finding drug paraphernalia, the officers seized approximately 160 grams of suspected fentanyl.
The suspect's confession to recent drug use, coupled with an active warrant for her arrest, led to charges including trafficking fentanyl in weights ranging from 100–200 grams and possession of a Class A substance, with bail set firmly at $250,000, the Methuen Police has sent a stern message that drug trafficking will not be taken lightly in their jurisdiction. The department explicitly stated, "The Methuen Police Department does not tolerate drug trafficking in our city," and emphasized the gravity of fentanyl as a substance that wreaks havoc on families and communities, they remain vigilant and proactive in their efforts to eradicate this plight from the streets.
