A domestic disturbance in Richmond escalated into a tense situation when a man, later identified as Javon Hudson, allegedly brandished an assault rifle and threatened the mother of his child. According to a press release by the Richmond Police Department, the incident occurred yesterday in the 4500 block of Florida Ave.
The victim was able to flee the residence with her child, and the police quickly responded to establish a perimeter, which Hudson breached, re-entering the house as officers observed from a distance. Despite their efforts, the RPD SWAT team, after obtaining a search warrant and conducting a thorough search of the house, found that Hudson had eluded them, leaving behind the rifle. A photograph of the weapon was included in the police department's release. The ongoing search for Hudson has Richmond authorities urging anyone with information about his whereabouts to come forward.
Meanwhile, the Richmond Police Department's social media post detailed the engagement, stating "Officers tried for several hours to make contact with the suspect to no avail," and expressing relief that no one was hurt during the incident.
