
Quick action by the San Mateo County Sheriff's Office has led to the arrest of a suspect in an attempted robbery outside of a Taco Bell in San Carlos. The incident occurred on Monday, as confirmed in a statement released by the Sheriff's Office. Alexis Rincon of East Palo Alto was confronted swiftly by Sheriff's deputies after he reportedly tried to rob an individual, weapon in hand.
It was around 3:30 PM when the deputies, who are part of the San Carlos Police Bureau, were alerted to the situation at a business on the 200 block of El Camino Real. A male victim had been threatened by Rincon when his request to see the victim's belongings was denied. According to the San Mateo County Sheriff's Office, Rincon allegedly pulled out a knife, although no injuries were reported following the confrontation.
Rincon was arrested a short distance away from the scene by the responding deputies, and the knife was recovered. He has been charged with Attempted 2nd Degree Robbery, Brandishing a Deadly Weapon, and a Probation Violation, and is now being held at the Maguire Correctional Facility.
