St. Charles Parish residents planning their commute for the week should be aware of several road closures that could affect travel times, with construction projects causing traffic delays and detour routes set up to guide vehicles through the affected areas. According to St. Charles Parish government's announcement, work on the Kerry's Pointe ramp lift began on May 5th and is set to disrupt traffic between Badeaux Ln. and Kerry's Pointe for a few weeks.
In Destrehan, Ormond Center Court now sees a blockade stretching from Rotolo's Pizza at 150 Ormond Center Court to Buddy's Frostop at 3001 Ormond Blvd due to road construction, drivers navigating the area can utilize the posted detour, enabling a more fluid albeit diverted passage through the locality, but construction on the Bonnet Carre' Spillway Road between Norco and Montz has resulted in an indefinite closure due to water over the road, meaning alternative routes must be found, this adds to the latest series of disruptions residents have faced in recent months.
For those using LA 48 (River Rd), alternating lane closures will be affecting travel from last Monday to this Friday, 8 AM - 3 PM each day, to facilitate drain cleaning and catch basin works. Traffic going southbound and northbound on LA 3127 will similarly confront single-lane closures from today until Friday, 6 AM - 5 PM daily, as asphalt patching operations are carried out. Both lane closures impact sections between the St. John / St. Charles Parish Line and I-310.
