On a brisk October evening last year, an employee of a Linda Mar Shopping Center business in Pacifica was confronted with an unsettling sight, a suspect who subjected them to indecent exposure. The Pacifica Police Department, responding to the incident on October 16, 2024, promptly dispatched officers to the scene at approximately 7:49 PM, but the individual in question had quickly vacated the area. As stated in a report by Hoodline, the suspect was described as a Hispanic or Asian male adult, roughly 30 years old, wearing a gray and black plaid shirt and green shorts.
After an extensive investigation and public outreach for assistance, a suspect named Favian Arredondo, 33, a resident of San Jose, was apprehended. It was revealed that this wasn't his first encounter with the law over such allegations. This marks the third incident where Arredondo stands accused of indecent exposure. Authorities, having finalized their probe, obtained a misdemeanor warrant against Arredondo, which was set at a $20,000 bail for two counts of 314(1) PC [indecent exposure]. The arrest was made yesterday, as outlined in a social media post from the Pacifica Police Department, capturing Arredondo at Santa Clara County's Hall of Justice when he appeared for an unrelated case.
The Pacifica Police had earlier turned to the community for help, broadcasting a description of the suspect, which included a distinct blond patch of dyed hair. This call to action sought to apprehend the suspect and possibly stir any dormant memories that bystanders or witnesses might harbor. Anyone with information was urged to come forward and could contact the police department directly or offer anonymous tips through the Silent Witness Tip Line, ensuring confidentiality was maintained for those who wished to remain anonymous.
