According to co-owner Alex Garcia, "This is what represents us. This is what we started with, and we feel like this is our baby," he told NBC Bay Area. His sentiment echoes the core drive of the American dream that he and his brother Victor have chased defiantly, despite their immigrant status; they showed that zeal and hard work could indeed unlock doors of opportunity in the U.S.
