A gruesome scene unfolded at an Edmond construction site when a semi-truck driver was found impaled on rebar Monday afternoon, as confirmed by the Edmond Police Department. Authorities revealed that earlier in the day, the said driver was involved in a traffic incident where he failed to engage his parking brake during a stop by an Oklahoma Highway Patrol trooper. This negligence led to the tractor-trailer rolling into the trooper's vehicle, according to OKC FOX. Following the accident, the driver fled on foot.
The Edmond Fire Department swiftly intervened, cutting the rebar to extricate the man, who was then rushed to OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City for surgery. Details of his condition post-surgery have not been made public.
