
The Calaveras County Fair and Jumping Frog Jubilee ended with the Destruction Derby. The four-day event included the work of organizers, agricultural participants, and others involved in planning and operations, as reported by the Calaveras County Sheriff's Office.
This year’s fair featured a variety of attractions and reflected months of preparation by participants involved in raising animals and Agricultural Mechanics. Deputies reported that visitors attended responsibly. In a frog-jumping contest, Sheriff Whiting and her frog, Deputy Hopper, won with a distance of 10 feet 4.5 inches, narrowly beating CHP Commander Tim McCollister and his frog, Radar Ribbit, as stated by the Calaveras County Sheriff's Office.
According to a post on the Calaveras County Sheriff's Office Facebook page, the department acknowledged the contributions of participants and attendees at the recent Calaveras County Fair, stating, "Together, we keep our community safe." The annual event featured animal showings, rodeo competitions, and mechanical exhibits, continuing a longstanding local tradition.
