In a vigilant call to arms, the St John the Baptist Parish Sheriff's Office has issued a stark warning through a social media post following a daring jailbreak in neighboring New Orleans. Nine inmates managed to orchestrate an escape from the Orleans Parish Jail early this past Friday morning, prompting law enforcement to caution the community to keep their eyes peeled and report anything out of the ordinary.
St. John Parish Sheriff Mike Tregre staunchly requested that residents should "to be vigilant in noting your surroundings, secure your car, stay alert and call 911 if you see anything suspicious." This comes as the fugitives, who may now be scattered and lurking anywhere, have unsettled the usual peace of the local populace. The sheriff's message was broadcast on the official Facebook page of the Parish's Sheriff's Office.
The law enforcement's alert specifically advised the public not to engage with the escapees, but instead to reach out to authorities immediately. Stressing the potential danger, Sheriff Tregre added, "If you recognize anyone pictured below, do not approach, as they may be armed and dangerous. Call 911 immediately."
