Authorities are seeking the public's assistance in identifying and locating suspects involved in a recent robbery in the Jeff-Vander-Lou neighborhood. According to St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department, the incident occurred last Sunday, in front of a convenience store located on the 2900 block of Vandeventer.
Two male victims, aged 18 and 21, found themselves at gunpoint after having just stepped out of the store around 7 p.m. Surrounded by three male suspects with weapons brandished, were with two additional accomplices across the street, also bearing arms. The coordinated nature of the ambush suggests a chilling level of premeditation. "The victims said the three armed suspects that approached them demanded their property," as revealed by the preliminary investigation, detailed by the SLMPD's release.
These suspects were not hesitant, making away with the personal effects of their targets; wallets, an iPhone, and a Coach bookbag were reported as stolen. After the confrontation, victims were chillingly instructed to walk away from the scene by their assailants. The five suspects subsequently vanished shortly after the robbery.
The search for these individuals is active and ongoing, being led by the Fourth District detectives. They have released images of the suspects and are requesting assistance from anyone who might have information regarding the robbery. "All five suspects fled from the scene after the incident," as per SLMPD's release.
The St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department continues to analyze available evidence in hopes of bringing swift justice to those affected.
