The St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department is currently examining a fatal shooting incident that claimed the life of an 18-year-old teenager, Donzell Johnson, from Jennings, MO. The shooting occurred on Sunday, in Lasalle Park, as reported by SLMPD.
Officers were dispatched to the 1000 block of Lasalle Park Ct at about 7:33 p.m. following reports of gunfire. Upon their arrival, Donzell was found in a residence, wounded by a gunshot. Despite EMS's swift response and transportation to a hospital, he was ultimately pronounced dead, leaving a community reeling and in search of answers.
A preliminary investigation, as stated by the SLMPD, suggests that Johnson was outside when he was struck by the fatal shot. Authorities have yet to disclose additional details about potential suspects or the motive behind the shooting, as investigations are still active.
