Residents of St. Louis can expect a break from their umbrellas today, with the National Weather Service forecasting sunny skies and temperatures reaching a comfortable 74 degrees. After a patch of early morning fog, the calm winds are set to shift southeast, promising a mild and pleasant afternoon. Clear conditions are on the agenda as we head into the evening, though temperatures will drop slightly to a low around 53.
The calm weather is not expected to last. Isolated showers are forecast before 7 a.m. tomorrow and again after 4 p.m. "Isolated showers before 7am, then isolated showers after 4pm," reports the National Weather Service, with a forecast of partly cloudy skies and occasional sunshine. This pattern is expected to continue into tomorrow night, with scattered showers and thunderstorms and a 40% chance of precipitation.
As we wade deeper into the week, the weather seems to be playing a teasing game of hide-and-seek with the sun. Thursday could see a 30 percent chance of showers, mainly after the afternoon. The mercury is expected to climb slightly, reaching for a high near 75, while the night sky clears up, setting the stage for a partly cloudy evening with temperatures around 50.
The weekend, however, is shaping up to be an idyllic chapter for locals looking to spend time outdoors. Friday beams with prospects of abundant sunshine, and Saturday follows suit, promising clear blue skies and a high of 74. "Sunday Sunny, with a high near 78," the weather service describes the continuance of this sunny streak, which should keep park-goers and weekend warriors more than content. Albeit, Monday teases a 20 percent chance of showers, it remains mostly sunny with highs flirting with the 80-degree mark.
