Tempe police have apprehended a suspect linked to the shooting outside Casey Moore’s Oyster House, a hub of nightlife near Arizona State University's campus. The incident, which left one man injured, occurred around 3 p.m. on Saturday, near the intersection of Mill Avenue and University Drive. According to FOX 10 Phoenix, the victim, a man in his 30s, was shot in the stomach several times and was found by responding officers. He received on-site aid before paramedics transported him to a local hospital where he is currently listed in critical, but stable condition.

The conflict appeared to begin with a disagreement involving two men, and a woman before it escalated to violence. After the shooting, the suspect left the scene in a white sedan, police described. Come Tuesday, 29-year-old Dakota Barnes was arrested and is facing charges including two counts of aggravated assault, and one count of unlawful discharge of a firearm, reports AZ Family. A booking photo of the suspect was not released immediately following the arrest.

The Tempe Police Department emphasizes that this was an isolated incident and reassures that there is no further threat to the public. While details surrounding the motive are still emerging, law enforcement officials are urging anyone with information about the shooting to come forth and contact the Tempe Police Department at 480-350-8311.
