Residents of Sacramento's Seavey Circle reported gunshots last Wednesday evening, prompting the Sacramento Police Department to respond. Detectives identified a suspect vehicle connected to the homicide, and the alleged driver is now in custody, as mentioned by the Sacramento Police Department.
Last Friday, deputies from the Sacramento County Sheriff's Office tried to stop a vehicle, but the driver, 23-year-old Xavier Barron of Sacramento, did not stop and led deputies on a high-speed chase. He was eventually detained and arrested on homicide-related charges. Last Wednesday, officers responded to a shooting on Seavey Circle around 8:30 p.m. and found an adult male victim with at least one gunshot wound, as reported by Hoodline. The victim was taken to a hospital and later died. Barron is being held at Sacramento County Main Jail while awaiting trial. The victim’s name has not been released.
According to the Sacramento Police Department on their X account, detectives and Crime Scene Investigators are continuing their investigation by collecting evidence and interviewing witnesses. Following a recent arrest, the department is pursuing all leads and is offering a reward of up to $1,000 for information that may help solve the case. The public is encouraged to contact the dispatch center or Sacramento Valley Crime Stoppers, with anonymous tips accepted through the "P3 Tips" app. With the recent arrest, the investigation is moving forward.
