
A man was found dead in a Grantville apartment last night after a reported altercation with his sister. Law enforcement was alerted around 8:56 PM to a disturbance at 6304 Rancho Mission Road. The call initially involved reports of items being destroyed inside the apartment, per a press release from the San Diego Police Department.
Officers responded to the situation upon receiving notice of a woman allegedly beating her brother with a stick. The situation rapidly evolved, prompting the dispatch of officers quickly. Upon their arrival at approximately 9:32 PM, they discovered a 62-year-old Pacific Islander male unconscious in the living room. Despite attempts to render aid, the man passed away at the scene. Police noted that there were signs of a struggle, but the victim suffered no apparent fatal injuries. His identity remains undisclosed pending further investigation.
The details surrounding the death are still emerging. The victim's sister, who is 59 years old and of Pacific Islander descent, fled the scene before officers could arrive. The authorities are currently treating her as a person of interest.
