The Atlanta Department of Transportation has announced that a section of Bolton Road NW will be closed to traffic for two weeks. Beginning yesterday and continuing through May 23, the road will be closed daily between Hollywood Road NW and Marietta Road NW from 8:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. The closure is necessary for essential utility upgrades, according to the ATLDOT advisory.
The section of Bolton Road NW will be closed while crews perform necessary work. ATLDOT has provided detour routes for drivers: eastbound vehicles will be directed to turn right onto Main St towards Hollywood Rd NW, then follow a series of turns back to Bolton Rd via Marietta Rd NW. These detours will be reversed for westbound traffic.
ATLDOT will have enforcement officers stationed to monitor the closures and assist drivers with the detour routes. Signs will be in place to guide traffic. Some travel delays are expected, but the presence of signage and officers aims to help minimize disruptions for motorists.
