The Tewksbury Police Department, in collaboration with the Middlesex Sheriff’s Office, made a decisive move on drug enforcement this past Friday, leading to the arrest of two individuals on serious drug charges. The arrests were a result of an observed transaction that gave the impression of being a drug deal, as per Tewksbury Police Department.
During the operation, police apprehended Noe Ojeda, Jr., 26, of Lowell, who is now facing charges including the distribution of a Class B drug and trafficking in cocaine and fentanyl. Thomas V. Ferraro, Jr., 49, from Tewksbury, was charged with possession of a Class B drug, this being a subsequent offense for him. The bust took place on Pike Street, where Ojeda, and Ferraro found themselves detained after being spotted by law enforcement.
A search led to the discovery of 1.1 grams of crack cocaine, 33.8 grams of fentanyl, and a cache of $1,159 in Ojeda's vehicle. Ojeda's charges also come with the serious implication of trafficking, given the weight of the substances in question. On top of his current troubles, Ferraro was also found to have outstanding warrants related to drug and motor vehicle charges from Framingham District Court.
The pair are set to be arraigned in Lowell District Court. Chief Ryan Columbus expressed his gratitude for the cooperative effort in tackling such issues, stating, "I am grateful for the partnership with the Middlesex Sheriff’s Office," as per the Tewksbury Police Department.
