The Texas-based convenience store giant Buc-ee's is expanding into Arizona, with a groundbreaking event for its first location in Goodyear set for tomorrow at 10 a.m. The ceremony is expected to be attended by Goodyear Mayor Joe Pizzillo and various city council members at the site near Interstate 10 and Bullard Avenue, as reported by FOX 10 Phoenix.

Known for its size and array of facilities, the upcoming Buc-ee's will feature a 74,000-square-foot travel center complete with more than a hundred fueling stations, homemade barbecue and fudge, and a sizable selection of their famous Beaver Nuggets and "wall of beef jerky," as mentioned in the FOX 10 Phoenix report. Originally planned to open by Christmas 2025, the new opening date has been pushed back to June 2026, nevertheless, the development promises to bring at least 200 full-time jobs to the local community.

According to a piece by ABC15, Stan Beard of Buc-ee’s, in a statement regarding the new location, said, "We could not have picked a better location for our first store in the Grand Canyon State. Perfectly placed for our road-trippers headed out to California or coming in for the destination-rich Phoenix area, Goodyear will be the place to stop."

The Goodyear City Council played a pivotal role in bringing Buc-ee's to the area with the approval of a zoning change back on January 29, 2024. ABC15 also provided a preview of what the travel center would look like with a rendering included in their coverage. As a round-the-clock operation, this new Buc-ee's Travel Center is set to become a cornerstone for locals and travelers alike, offering not just fuel but a variety of food options and convenience items in one go-to location.
