Tragedy unfolded in Whitehaven last night as the Memphis Police Department was called to the scene of a shooting with officers arriving to the 100 block of Loraine Drive around 5:12 p.m., where they discovered a woman with gunshot wounds, Action News 5 reported.
The injured woman was swiftly transported to Regional One Hospital in a non-critical state, where the gravity of gun violence in Memphis's streets became stark once again, as the investigation into the incident remains ongoing and as of now, no arrests have been made; this according to preliminary details advised by the MPD, FOX13 Memphis confirmed.
Yet, that was not the full extent of the day's bloodshed—WREG reported that two additional victims were found in the wake of the shooting, both located separately; a man on Newton Road and another woman on Neely Road, each also suffering from gunshot wounds but listed in non-critical condition, these shootings having reportedly occurred at the same location as the first victim.
Police continue to search for the suspect who is believed to have fled the scene in a white four-door sedan, last seen heading southbound on Neely Road toward Holmes Road, as per Action News 5.
