A single-vehicle crash in West Palm Beach this morning has led to southbound lane closures and impacted traffic at a major intersection, according to local authorities. The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office has confirmed their presence at the scene on Jog Road and Okeechobee Boulevard, where the incident occurred, resulting not only in traffic delays but also in downed power lines.
As reported by CBS12 News, deputies are currently blocking the southbound lanes that lead onto Jog Road. Traffic is expected to be delayed as a result, though there have been no injuries reported at this time. Motorists are advised to seek alternative routes where possible to avoid the congestion area.
Additional coverage from WPBF 25 News states a rollover crash is responsible for the disruption. Their news crew observed a car rolled over near the busy intersection, which is a critical junction for commuters in the area. Power utility crews have been dispatched and are working on the scene to manage the downed power line.
As per officials, traffic updates will continue to be provided as the situation evolves. Both Northbound and Southbound lanes of Jog Road have been closed as of Friday morning due to the crash. Okeechobee Boulevard, however, does not appear to be affected at this time. Commuters can expect ongoing delays until the vehicle is cleared and power is restored to the affected lines.
