
Tragedy marred what was supposed to be a Memorial Day celebration at Cedar Hill Park, where two teenage girls, aged 16 and 17, were hospitalized after being unintentionally shot during an altercation. The incident occurred just after 2 p.m. in the midst of a public gathering that drew a cluster of teens to commemorate the holiday, as reported by the Nashville government website.
According to the same source, the violence erupted in the parking lot from a dispute involving unidentified individuals, the girls found themselves in the path of the bullets, where one suffered a graze wound to her leg, and the other sustained injuries to her arm and torso, both girls were not involved in the previous dispute and are currently receiving medical attention.
The Nashville Police's Specialized Investigations Division is actively following leads in the case.
