The UC Law School Class of 2025 is on the threshold of their legal careers, with graduates poised to make their mark across various fields, from public defense to the intricate pathways of corporate law. With their time at UC Law now behind them, they commit to service and the desire to effectuate change, grounded in the education and experiences they've gained. Among them is Micaela Beatham-Garcia, hailing from Plattsburgh, NY, whose journey through law began with an undergraduate chapter of Phi Alpha Delta at Ohio University and culminated in her time at UC Law.
In the footsteps of such ambitious beginnings, Beatham-Garcia speaks about her early law school visits, which led her to appreciate UC Law's authentic community. "During my time at OU, I had the chance to visit several law schools through the pre-law chapter of Phi Alpha Delta. When I visited UC Law as a sophomore, I was immediately struck by how genuine and grounded the students were," Beatham-Garcia told UC's news hub. The sense of support and engagement at UC Law was evident in her early encounters and would carry through her education there.
The Class of 2025 enters a world where the legal system grapples with perennial issues of justice and equity, and this new breed of lawyer is ready to tackle these challenges head-on. Each graduate's story, like Beatham-Garcia's, is a testament to UC Law's nurturing environment, which emphasizes academic rigor and the development of lawyers ready to serve and lead in their respective fields.
As this cohort embarks on their professional paths, they take with them the knowledge and skills honed at UC Law and an ethos rooted in community and real-world impact. They stand ready to navigate the complexities of law with a sense of purpose, driven by their experiences—experiences which, for Beatham-Garcia, began with a simple chapter meeting at Ohio University and an enlightening visit to a law school that felt like home from the start.
