The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) has announced nighttime road closures in West Baton Rouge Parish that will affect drivers on May 27 and 28.
According to the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development, the I-10 Eastbound On-Ramp from LA-1 Northbound will be fully closed from 10:00 p.m. to 4:00 a.m. both nights. In addition, the right travel lane on LA-1 Northbound will also be closed during those nights, starting earlier at 7:00 p.m. and ending at 4:00 a.m.
These closures are part of Phase II of the Port Allen Canal Bridge replacement project. Crews will be removing temporary concrete barriers and adding temporary pavement markings. This work is in preparation for shifting northbound traffic to access the I-10 Eastbound On-Ramp via the upgraded LA-1 Southbound Bridge.
Drivers are advised to expect delays and consider alternate routes. The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development also reminds motorists to use caution in construction zones for the safety of workers and other drivers.
