Drivers in Livingston and East Baton Rouge Parishes should be aware of ongoing nighttime lane and ramp closures that began Monday as part of concrete patching and maintenance work by the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD).
According to the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development, the closures will continue each night through Saturday from 8:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. During these hours, the left and center lanes of I-10 Eastbound are closed from the I-12/I-10 split to Exit 163 (Siegen Lane), while the right and center lanes of I-10 Westbound are closed from Exit 163 to Exit 160 (Essen Lane).
Several ramps are also affected by alternating closures overnight. These include the Siegen to Westbound I-10 on-ramp (Exit 163), the Bluebonnet to Westbound I-10 on-ramp (Exit 162), the Westbound I-10 to Essen off-ramp (Exit 160), and the Essen to Westbound I-10 on-ramp (Exit 160).
The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development urges drivers to plan ahead, use detours as necessary, and proceed cautiously through the work zones. All work is weather-dependent, and schedule changes may occur based on conditions.
