Early morning yesterday, Boston police arrested 34-year-old Samuel Milton of Waltham for cocaine trafficking and related charges following a traffic stop in the Dorchester neighborhood. According to the Boston Police Department, the vehicle was pulled over near Blue Hill Avenue and Columbia Road for speeding.
A registration check revealed an outstanding warrant for the vehicle's owner, who was a passenger but not the driver. Milton, identified as a suspect, was asked to exit the vehicle and was placed under arrest.
During a standard inventory search before the vehicle was towed, officers found one plastic bag containing four smaller bags holding a total of 22 grams of cocaine.
Milton is facing charges of Trafficking Cocaine (18 grams or more, less than 36 grams), Possession with Intent to Distribute Class B, and Possession of Class B. He was also wanted on a warrant for two counts of Assault and Battery with a Dangerous Weapon from Dorchester District Court. His arraignment is scheduled in the same court.
