Residents of Rockwall County should prepare for a week of disruptions, with planned roadworks on IH 30 set to affect daily commutes. According to Rockwall County's official website, multiple lane closures will occur from today until Saturday due to construction activities, potentially impacting traffic flow and travel times.
Construction crews will operate across various highway segments, including bridge activities at the John King intersection and road excavation between FM 551 and FM 3549. The Eastbound and Westbound U-turns at John King will be closed during daytime hours, from 9 A.M to 3 P.M. Moreover, the eastbound left lane from FM 548 to FM 2642 and the westbound left lane from FM 2642 to FM 548 will be shut overnight, from 9 P.M. to 5 A.M, to facilitate bridge activities at FM 35 and Sabine Creek.
In addition to the lane closures, a flagging operation will take place on FM 548 to guide drivers during drainage work and bridge activities at Pond Branch. Similar flagging operations are planned on 30 Westbound Frontage Road, stretching from Fate Main PL to FM 551, during daytime hours for embankment activities and ramp construction.
Drivers should also be aware of further disruptions occurring at the end of the week, particularly from Friday to Saturday. Alternating lane closures will be in effect on 30 Westbound between Erby Campbell and FM 551 overnight for the relocation of CSB/Temp Pave Markings installations. Ramp closures, as required, will intervene at Exit 75 to the Westbound Frontage Road and Exit 73 to FM 551, according to information from Rockwall County's announcement.
