Motorists in West Baton Rouge Parish should prepare for overnight road closures on Friday and Saturday as part of ongoing construction. The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) announced that the LA 1 East Frontage Road will be fully closed from 7:00 p.m. to 4:00 a.m. on both nights. The closures will allow crews to remove the concrete bridge deck from the existing southbound LA 1 bridge.
This work is part of Phase II of the LA 1 Port Allen Canal Bridge Replacement Project, which aims to improve local infrastructure and transportation.
